Day and Time:
Saturday and Sunday 10:00am to 5:00pm

This exciting 2 day workshop is open to all of you who would like to explore your creativity, your creative energy and how this can deepen your spiritual experience. You will learn techniques to explore and engage with a large variety of materials and techniques to open to both the messages and healing potential that your artistic expressions contain in a safe and supportive environment. For those that attended the previous workshop there will be the opportunity to explore new materials, work three dimensionally, and learn new techniques to deepen your connection to both your personal creative process and the artwork produced.

You do not have to have any artistic knowledge, flair or experience, just a desire to experiment and develop your innate creativity; in fact if you think you are not remotely creative but intrigued please sign up and be amazed at what you produce and discover!

Workshop Content:-

On day 1 we will start with colour meditation to gently help us to open and connect to our creative inner world and then simply begin to explore and play with the large variety of materials available and their inherent physical qualities, understanding that materials influence us in ways that correspond to their physical qualities, each evoking a distinctly different physical, emotional and spiritual response in us.

We will look at ways to break down resistance to creative expression, for example, rather than looking at the canvas, paper or surface as a blank intimidating space approaching it as an open realm that invites expression and acknowledge this as part of the dynamic in our creative process. You will then be guided in ways to begin to create spontaneous images as our unconscious speaks in images and symbols through our creativity, our imagination and our dreams.

We will also look at the relationship between rhythm and movement and creative expression using our breath, sound and music to connect to our own unique rhythm that allows us to relax and move with freedom. Painting in many ways may have more to do with the quality of movement than visualisation.
We will look at creative and imaginative ways of responding to our artistic expressions to deepen our connection, awareness and sensitivity, such as Aesthetic Contemplation, and Dialoguing. These responses will develop a much closer relationship to our images and open us to the messages and healing energies that they contain from our higher selves, our Guides and Angelic beings.

On day 2 we will experiment with sculptural forms, working 3 dimensionally and further develop the techniques from day 1 to deepen our connection to our creations and open to their healing energy. Finally we look at the power of ritual to both amplify the inherent healing quality of the image and as a tool to let go and separate from our images at the end of the day.

“Artistic expressions are like offspring, and like children they are related to but separate from their makers.” - Art Heals: How Creativity Cures the Soul, McNiff Shaun, 2004.

A wide range of quality materials both traditional and unusual will be available to use on the day.
