Brigette has worked as a Duel Registered Nurse (in General & Learning Disability) for 24 years working in various departments within the Hospital setting, as a Community Sister, and also in Partnership with Social Care as Deputy Service Manager. During these various appointments she gained valuable experience of communicating with people from all sorts of backgrounds within Children and Adult Services (health & social care) including advocating for clients with communication difficulties. This work involved working closely with many other bodies such as the police, various charities such as NCH-Action for Children and child protection. As well as this, it gave her practical experience of planning, organising and providing hands on care in dealing with people from all types of backgrounds, through some of life’s extreme challenges.
Brigette’s last position before leaving the NHS in 2013 was working in an Endoscopy Department, where diagnoses were made, sometime life threatening, she also completed extra studies around counselling people with terminal illness and giving bad news.
She is passionate in helping everyone receive the right support and care that suits their individual needs, after personally witnessing some less than favourable experiences, during both her working and personal life. Over the last 7 years she has attended mediumship development through workshops, circles and attending retreats run by various well respected mediums such as Donna Stewart and Tony Stockwell and completed studies through the Spiritualist National Union. Brigette is presently studying their SD1 & Platform Accreditation Scheme.
Brigette presently is enjoying running her own spiritually based business including working as an End of Life Soul Doula, tutoring small home circles, running workshops, retreats and demonstrations, along with providing Reiki, one to one spiritual readings and some energy clearing/soul retrieval work.
